Bac Giang’s industrial production keeps growth momentum

Updated: 07:00, 12/02/2022
(BGO) - In the last months of 2021 and early 2022, the industrial production value of Bac Giang province increased sharply. This result showed that enterprises not only recovered quickly when the Covid-19 epidemic was brought under control, but also continued to expand production and business, making strong breakthroughs.
Highest value ever

In January 2022, the province’s industrial production value of the province reached 35.87 trillion VND (1.58 billion USD), up 31 percent over the same period, the highest ever. Previously, the fourth quarter of 2021 also recorded the figure reaching more than 110 trillion VND (4.8 billion USD). Of which, enterprises in industrial zones held a high proportion, about 60 percent, of the province’s total industrial production value.

According to the provincial Industrial Parks Management Board, enterprises in industrial zones have made important contributions to the industrial production value of the province. Therefore, it proposed practical solutions to support businesses to recover post pandemic. Along with guiding businesses to prevent and control the Covid-19, the unit has regularly supported them in recruiting workers, arranging worker's accommodations, and transporting goods so that businesses feel secure to focus on boosting production.

The number of employees working at enterprises in industrial parks is about 187,000 people, an increase of nearly 20,000 compared to the time before the Covid-19 outbreak. Those with a high number of employees are Luxshare Group and Hon Hai Technology Group.

Enterprises based outside industrial zones and clusters have also actively engaged in restoring production and business, achieving high results. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said that over the past time, despite the pandemic as well as difficulties in the import of raw materials, some dynamic and creative enterprises have their own directions to limit risks. The new ways of many units have contributed to increasing the industrial production value of the province, creating momentum for development in the coming time.

Continuing to support SMEs

In 2022, the province strives for the industrial production value to reach more than 308 trillion VND (13.5 billion USD), an increase of about 10 trillion VND compared to 2021. Therefore, supporting enterprises in developing production and business stably is a consistent solution directed by the provincial administration.

In 2022, the province strives for the industrial production value to reach more than 308 trillion VND (13.5 billion USD), an increase of about 10 trillion VND compared to 2021.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong emphasized that priority should be given to supporting businesses to safely and flexibly adapt to the Covid-19 epidemic in the new situation; and continue to recruit and take care of workers' lives.

It is necessary to further promote the role of the Steering Committee for assisting enterprises’ production development and pandemic prevention and control and its supporting group; as well as strengthen coordination to solve problems facing enterprises in a flexible and open manner.

Following the directions of the provincial authorities, the provincial Industrial Parks Management Board has captured the operation of enterprises; and reviewed the transport needs in the import and export of their goods through the border gates to China, thereby proposing transportation plans via rail or road that save costs and ensure goods are cleared in the fastest way. By 2022, the industrial production value in industrial zones is expected to increase by 15 percent compared to 2021.

In order to speed up the construction investment progress of industrial zones and clusters, the province established working groups to regularly inspect the work; clearly define responsibility to promptly criticize cases with poor performance. This has helped many businesses clear ground for construction investment and quickly complete infrastructure to attract secondary investors.

Joining hands with local Party committees and authorities, enterprises have actively promoted emulation campaigns in production from the beginning of the year, striving to achieve high output, increase income, and take better care of workers' lives. All employees who return to work after Tet have been tested for Covid-19, ensuring safety before operating the production lines.

Along with the above solutions, the province continues to invest in infrastructure to lure investors; improve the quality of human resources; step up administrative reform, and build a truly open, equal and transparent business and investment environment.

In addition, one of the other solutions that the province is focusing on is to speed up the construction of social housing and worker housing, helping workers feel secure to work.
