In November 2022, Bich Dong Town People's Committee conducted land reclamation and compensation as well as site clearance as regulations. After more than 2 months, about 90 percent of related households received compensation and early handed over the land.

Bich Son new residential area project in Bich Dong town has clear land for investors.

By April 2023, site clearance of the entire Bich Son new residential area was completed with high consensus from whole residents.

In the first 8 months of 2023, Bich Dong town carried out site clearance for 15 projects with a total recovery area of more than 50 hectares. Among these, there were 3 projects with non-budget investment capital, one project has site clearance completed while 98 percent of households received compensation money and handed over the land for the remaining area of 14.8 hectares.

Regarding the new urban area project in Bich Dong town in an area of 30.1 hectares, it was implemented in last July and initially received high consensus from the locals.

According to the Steering Board for Land Clearance in Bich Dong town (Steering Board), sine 2020, the Steering Board has conducted land clearance for 36 projects on a total area of more than 230 hectares with thousands of households involved. Currently, 15 projects have completed site clearance work. The remaining projects basically receive high consensus among the people, many of which have completed 95 percent of the area.

Notably, during the implementation of the above projects, the locality has not had to enforce a single case for land clearance because most of the involved households have received bonuses for early handover of the premises.

Le Hoang Bach, Vice Chairman of Viet Yen District People's Committee affirmed: "As the center of the district, Bich Dong town has the most projects that must be cleared. The land clearance task faces many difficulties due to large area of land for reclamation which are scattered and involve thousands of households. However, thanks to thorough, persistent and flexible leadership in mass mobilization and site clearance, the local authority is trusted and supported by the people. This is a favorable premise to attract investors to the area, contributing to early completion of the criteria for building Viet Yen town, a smart urban area in the future."

Land clearance done for expansion project of Nhu Nguyet bridge
