Biggest blood donation campaign collects over 115,000 units

The 2023 Red Journey blood donation campaign has collected more than 115,000 units after two months, according to Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion Nguyen Ha Thanh.
First held in 2013, Vietnam's biggest blood donation programme in a year has helped ease the scarcity of blood for treatment in summer. In the past one decade from 2013 to 2022, the campaign received nearly 700,000 units.

The 11th edition took place from June 1 to July 30 in 46 provinces and cities.
Thanh emphasised that the Red Journey has contributed to bringing life to hundreds of thousands of patients, helping the health sector overcome many difficulties and challenges to ensure the care and protection of people's health.

patient treatment in summer occasion, the Steering Committee for voluntary
blood donation in Bac Giang province (Steering Committee) has launched plan to
organize “Red blood campaign” and “Red Journey programme” in 2023.
Bac Giang appeals to donate nearly 11,000 blood units
(BGO) - For the first three months of this year, the
Steering Committee for voluntary blood donation (VBD) in Bac Giang province has
cooperated with local organizations, agencies and schools to launch 14 VBD
events and receive 10,753 safe blood units in line with the Minstry of Health’s
standard (accounting for 59.7 percent of 2023 target), reported the provincial
Red Cross Society.

years, Hoang Thi Chung (born in 1974) in An Chau town of Son Dong district (Bac
Giang province) has regularly donated her blood to save others.

voluntary blood donation (VBD) in Bac Giang province cooperated with the Red

(BGO) – A one – month old baby from Quang Ninh province was hospitalized at Vietnam National Children's Hospital on February 13 in critical condition of low hemoglobin, severe anemia with urgent need of blood transfusion.
