The delegates laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroes who fought and sacrificed their lives for the struggle to liberate and unify the nation. This activity is to cherish the tradition “Gratitude is the sign of noble souls” (drinking water, remembering its source) of Vietnamese people. Besides, the delegation took this occasion to visit and offer incense at the special national relic site of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.

In order to cherish the “Gratitude is the sign of noble souls” tradition and boost the movement “All people take care of war invalids, sick soldiers and martyrs’ relatives”, the people’s committee of Hiep Hoa district launched the “Gratitude” Fundraising movement in 2018. Accordingly, all public officers, civil servants, local organizations and grassroots of the district were called to donate from 1 June 1 to September 30.

According to the division of labors, invalids and social affairs - the standing committee of the district’s “Gratitude” Fund, nearly 40 million VND (1,730 USD) have been donated by the organizations and enterprises.

This fund will be utilized to build and refurbish houses for the social policy beneficiaries, sponsor gifts and support war invalids, sick soldiers and martyrs’ relatives. The money is also used to renovate and build cemeteries and places worshipping fallen soldiers.
