Chairman of provincial People's Committee affirms determination to stamp out pandemic in one week

Updated: 20:30, 16/06/2021
(BGO) - Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong has just sent a message forecasting the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in the coming days. The following is the full text of the message.

“Bac Giang province, after more than a month of fighting the pandemic, has achieved very important progress. It has stopped the spread of the coronavirus in industrial zones, residential areas and concentrated quarantine sites. We are focusing on a ‘general offensive’ with a view to basically containing the epidemic by June 21 and returning to the new normal state by the end of this month.

Workers at industrial parks have samples taken for Covid-19 testing.

“However, between now and June 21, it is forecast that more F1 cases will turn into F0 cases in concentrated quarantine sites as we are speeding up daily testing for quarantined people. The province has 270 concentrated quarantine sites which manage over 14,000 F1 cases. If 80 percent of them see only one F1 case turning into F0, the whole province will have more than 200 new infections per day. But with our determination and drastic measures, we will only have to see it in one week. After that, the number of F0 cases in the province will definitely plunge toward zero. We will achieve our goal."

It is known that Covid-19 cases under treatment are also getting better. There are still very few serious patients, most of them show mild or no symptoms. On June 15, 131 more patients were given the all-clear, raising the total of recoveries to 1,119. Nearly 500 others are about to be discharged from the hospital, including 273 negative for the virus twice and 218 once.
