Chairman of provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong visits Japanese Embassy in Vietnam

(BGO) - Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong has just visited and extended New Year greetings to the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam. He was accompanied by leaders of the Office of the provincial People's Committee Office and the Department of External Affairs.

Receiving the delegation were Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio, Economic Minister Counsellor, secretaries of the embassy and Chief Representative of the Japan Trade Promotion Organization (JETRO).

At the meeting, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Duong presented flowers and gifts and introduced some typical products of the province to the Ambassador and Chief Representative of JETRO.

The Chairman of the provincial People's Committee briefed on the province's socio-economic situation in recent years; local potential and strengths; investment attraction, especially luring investors from Japan. He said that the province would re-establish a Japanese investment promotion and support group, and teach Japanese language in the Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students. In addition, meetings are scheduled to be held to introduce Bac Giang province to the embassy and Japanese partners to attract their investment. Duong also wished for the ambassador’s help to establish relations with a locality of Japan in the near future.

For his part, Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio appreciated the development of the province in recent years. He said that Japanese businesses are very interested in investing in Vietnam, including Bac Giang province. Therefore, with his role and responsibility, he will pay attention to strengthening relations between Japanese investors and the province. The embassy will coordinate with the Japan Cultural Exchange Center to open a Japanese language class in a suitable high school in the province; as well as support to increase lychee exports to the Japanese market.

The ambassador wished that in the near future, he would join Japanese partners in a conference to introduce Bac Giang in order to better understand the culture, people and potential of the locality.
