At the signing ceremony, Hoa Phat Group pledged to cover all the cost of developing the project, which is estimated at 1.3 million USD. It will be implemented by the joint venture of the Boston Consulting Group Co., Ltd. (BCG US) and the Vietnam Institute for Urban and Rural Planning (VIUP). Immediately after the signing ceremony, the units will carry out works to complete the project within 7 months.

The representatives of Hoa Phat Group and the Boston Consulting Group Co., Ltd highly appreciated the socio-economic development of Bac Giang province over the past years. They expected that after this planning phase, Bac Giang city would develop strongly in the future.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong stressed that Bac Giang is a province with great potential and an aspiration for strong development. Regarding the goal in the next 10 years, he said Bac Giang province strives to be in the group of leading provinces and cities nationwide in terms of economic size.

To realise this goal, the province will focus on developing the urban system in a moden and green manner as well as strive to increase the urbanization rate.

In order to develop Bac Giang quickly and sustainably, it is necessary to have a strategic vision. Therefore, it has highly focused on making its general planning, becoming the first locality nationwide with its provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister as a basis to guide its development.

Currently, Bac Giang city has a small scale, just meeting the criteria of a tier-2 city. The province plans to expand the city to become a tier-1 urban area in the near future.

The provincial leaders witness the signing of the contract to finance the making of the planning adjustment project.

Duong welcomed and thanked Hoa Phat Group for accompanying Bac Giang in making the general planning on expanding Bac Giang city and wished that the group would continue to increase investment in the province. He said he believes that with their experience and capacity, the consulting units will help Bac Giang city have the best planning. At the same time, he hoped that the parties would closely coordinate to ensure the quality and progress of the project.

Bac Giang develops urban and residential areas, ensures provincial planning, saves resources
