Exhibition week of textile and footwear products 2022 opens

On November 29, the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of Ho Chi Minh City (ITPC) coordinated with the Association of Garments, Textiles, Embroidery and Knitting (AGTEK); members of Ho Chi Minh City Leather and Footwear Association (SLA), to open "Exhibition Week of Textile and Footwear Products 2022".

The week brings together more than 40 typical enterprises of the city's textile, garment, leather and footwear industry, with selected products such as new products, products applying modern production technology, using traditional materials closeto nature, and the environment.

The delegation cut the ribbon to open the "Exhibition Week of Textile and Footwear Products 2022".

According to ITPC, the textile, garment and footwear industry is considered one of the industries with a large export turnover. Enterprises in these two fields are mainly concentrated in Ho Chi Minh City, with a production capacity equivalent to 40-50% of the whole country.

Taking place from November 29 to December 5, the exhibition is expected to support the city's businesses and members of the AGTEK and the SLA, in finding domestic and export partners.

At the same time, the event also aims to support micro-enterprises, small enterprises in the city, start-ups and creative enterprises, oriented to product production and export promotion.

The garment sector generated export revenue of 22.3 billion USD in the first six months of 2022, up 17.7% over the same period last year, according to the industry association Vitas.
Vietnam’s garment sector records impressive export growth
Vietnam exported over 10.6 billion USD worth of garment products in the first three months of 2022, up nearly 20% over the same period last year, which is a positive signal for garment makers to expand their production.
Textile - garment sector sees strong growth
The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) enjoyed a year-in-year surge of 144.2 percent in revenue to over 5.15 trillion VND (224.26 million USD) in the first quarter of 2022, completing 28.5 percent of its target for the whole year.
