Farmers’ income expected to reach VND55 million a year from the end of 2020

The Hanoi Farmers’ Association (HFA) held a conference in Hanoi on September 26 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association and honour outstanding collectives and individuals of the 2015-2020 period.

According to the HFA’s report, thanks to efforts in building new-style rural areas, by the end of 2020 Hanoi is expected to have 368 out of 382 communes meeting the standards of new rural areas, with 21 communes. meeting the standards of advanced new rural areas, bringing the average income in rural areas to VND55 million per person a year.

On this occasion, the Hanoi City People’s Committee awards certificates of merit to two collectives and five individuals.

Speaking at the conference, HFA President Pham Hai Hoa said that the capital city currently has nearly 478,000 members. In the period 2015-2020, over 750 collective economic models have been deployed by its members at all levels.

In response to the movement on building new rural areas, farmers in Hanoi have donated more than 273,000 square metres of land and more than 2.1 million working days, contributing more than VND5.500 trillion to the development of rural infrastructure.

In her speech, Party Central Committee member and Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang highly appreciated the three key movements deployed by the HFA over the past time, saying that these are important contributions to successfully realise the resolutions of the 15th and 16th Party Congresses of Hanoi.

On this occasion, the Hanoi City People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to two collectives and five individuals while the HFA presented certificates of merit to 41 collectives and 64 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement for the 2015-2020 period.
