First-ever book festival on gender equality to be held in Hanoi

The UN Women Vietnam will hold the first-ever book festival on gender equality at the Vietnam Women’s Museum in Hanoi from March 4 to 11.

Themed ‘Read & Rise Bookfest 2023’, the event is among activities to celebrate the International Women's Day (March 8).

Throughout the week-long event, visitors will have an opportunity to participate in a series of interesting activities such as book displays on gender equality, discussions with experts and book authors, interactive exhibitions and fairs.

The event aims to provide a cultural space where participants can enjoy, reflect, learn and connect, to recognise everyday gender norms and make a decision to think and act for gender equality.

Two interesting talk shows with speakers from UN Women Vietnam, universities, and publishing houses in Hanoi, are also scheduled within the framework of the festival, promising to bring new stories and perspectives on books and gender equality to listeners.
