Hai Phong organises a street music festival

Many jubilant music performances are organised at several locations on Hai Phong city's streets, on the weekend evenings from May 8 to 28.

The street music festival aims to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the city’s Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2022) and respond to the 2022 Hoa Phuong Do (flamboyant red) Festival.

Directed by the Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports, the Hai Phong Street Music Festival 2022 is implemented by the City Cultural Centre and the Culture, Arts and Tourism Intermediate School.

The festival will gather the participation of bands from Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, singers, dance troupes and Xam (ballads sung by wandering blind musicians) Club of Hai Phong city. The selected locations are Hai Phong City Theatre Square Fountain, Tam Ky Flower Garden, Tam Bac Lake shore, Nguyen Trai Flower Garden, Tam Bac Walking Street, and Nguyen Du Flower Garden.

Director of Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Hoang Mai said that the Hai Phong Street Music Festival is not only a part of events to celebrate the 2022 Hoa Phuong Do Festival, but also an opportunity for bands, dance troupes and music clubs to have the opportunity to exchange and meet. The event contributes to enriching the cultural and spiritual life of the people and creates a joyful and vibrant atmosphere in the growing port city.

According to the programme, bands such as Plus Band (from Hanoi - won the 3rd Prize of National Band Festival 2018), Homie Band (from Quang Ninh - Top 10 National Band Festival 2019), Complex Band and Marvel Band from Hai Phong city, along with dance groups: We dare, Stress dance, Vhunter, O.S, Hai Phong Xam Club, as well as many singers will come to Hai Phong to participate in the Street Music Festival.
