Hanoi pedestrian streets to resume operation on mid-May

The pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounding areas in downtown Hanoi will reopen for visitors from May 15, as announced by Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee.

The pedestrian spaces in the district, including the streets around Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounding areas, Hang Dao - Hang Giay Streets, Dong Xuan night market and, six expanded pedestrian streets have been temporarily closed due to fear of Covid-19 outbreak.

Pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake attracted a large number of visitors.

The streets are open from Friday night to Sunday night, from 7 pm to 12 pm.

According to the Vice Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee Dinh Hong Phong, although all activities are back to normal, measures are being taken to ensure security and order, traffic safety and the prevention of Covid-19.

Accordingly, visitors will be asked to wear face masks, disinfect their hands and maintain a safe distance.
