Hanoi plans various promotional events to boost consumer demand

The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade is planning to hold a promotional programme featuring a series of events over the coming months where consumers can enjoy big discounts on quality products and services.

The programme is expected to strongly bolster consumer demand which has been negatively affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for April 29 at Ly Thai To Square in central Hanoi, where the promotional activities will be formally launched.

According to the organisers, promotional events, deals and discounts will be concentrated in the months of May, July and November.

From April 29-May 1, an event featuring 25-30 booths along Dinh Tien Hoang Street will display products in the field of construction, interior design and home decor.

A summer tourism and shopping festival is scheduled to take place from May 21-23 with the participation of travel agencies, transport companies, airlines, supermarkets and commercial centres.

In July, Hanoi will organise an event to introduce local products from the One Commune One Product programme, with the launch ceremony to be held at the Bat Trang ceramic village.

November will see a Hanoi promotional month with special deals for the end of the year.

Last year the promotional programme produced encouraging results as the revenues of participating enterprises rose by 100-200% while the number of buyers also increased by 200-315% compared to regular days.
