Bac Giang’s foreign affairs contribute to tourism promotion
Receiving many foreign guests
External diplomacy and tourism activities have been combined with political and economic diplomacy. DOFA advises the provincial leaders to welcome many foreign delegations to visit and work in Bac Giang annually.

Particularly, Indian Ambassador paid a courtesy visit to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and presented a bodhi tree planed at Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourism complex in Son Dong district. The delegations of German Parliament and Friedrich - Naumann Stifung Fur die Freiheit (FNF), Taizhou city, Jiangsu province, China, Cambodian Ministry of Ritual and Religion, Lower Silesia province, Poland, Embassy of Republic of Korea and Japanese Ambassador visited and took part in some events in the province.
At the meetings, the provincial leaders introduced the guests about outstanding socio-cultural-economic conditions, beautiful landscapes and tourist sites of the province. Besides, these delegations took time to visit some historic sites and well-known landscapes in Bac Giang.
Organizing many programmes and events
In April 2016, Bac Giang province collaborated with Japanese agencies and organizations in Vietnam and volunteers of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) organized the “Japan Festival” attracting participation of many Japanese enterprises and the mass of local people which was highly appreciated by Japanese partners.
Since 2015, Bac Giang province has received 600 cherry-blossom trees presented by Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Chukyo Region, Japan and planted around the provincial Convention Center.
Besides, DOFA collaborated with the people’s committee of Yen Dung district to welcome the ambassadors of Russia, India, Egypt, Belgium, Austria, Morocco, Venezuela, Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan to attend a longevity ceremony, enjoy Tet festival and visit Vinh Nghiem pagoda.
DOFA also welcomed the delegation of Lao Embassy to attend Yen The Festival.
Bac Giang, for the first time, sent an art group to perform Quan Ho at “Vietnam Culture and Tourism Seminar" in Japan organized by Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in 2019.
Specially, DOFA brought to the annual International Food Festival organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi with the province’s signature products such as golden flower tea, lingzhi mushroom, honey, herbals, yellow flesh orange and sweet orange.
Improving quality of tourism promotion materials
In recent years, DOFA has worked with some agencies in the province to publish a number of materials for tourism promotion including Bac Giang External Bulletin, Bac Giang profile in Vietnamese, English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages. Besides, the department made the series “Bac Giang, an attractive investment destination” and “Bac Giang completes infrastructure for integration and development”.
Its dual-language website in Vietnamese and English updates information of the province’s investment attraction policies including tourism sector.
The external bulletins and website provide general information of history, culture, society, potentials, strengths as well as key products of the province contributing to bringing the province’s image closer to international friends.
In addition, the department proactively sent the province’s brochures and signature products to display at the international events such as APEC Vietnam 2017 and “Vietnamese Day 2019” organized by the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO.
Besides, the province often receives the foreign press delegations from Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Romania, France and Bangladesh to survey, film and take photos at the famous and beautiful landscapes of the province.
Reports implemented by these reporters contributed to promoting tourism and culture of the province to international friends.
The department collaborated with related departments and localities to support the press delegation of the National Commission for UNESCO taking a field visit to discover and promote the province’s cultural heritages.
With great efforts, foreign affairs have contributed to boosting tourism development. Land and people of Bac Giang have become popular for many international friends. The province is estimated to welcome about 20,000 international visitors each year.
