Ho Chi Minh City launches first waterway tourism route
The Bach Dang-Binh Duong-Cu Chi route launched on July 10, 2020. |
The 78 km route will depart from Bach Dang Wharf in District 1 and travel through Binh Hoa Wharf in BinhThanh District, Tiamo Wharf in Binh Duong province, and Ben Dinh and Ben Duoc Wharfs in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, Bui Hoa An, the replacement of the old Binh Loi Bridge with a new onefeaturing higher clearance has opened up many opportunities for the waterway tourism sector, particularly in these tough times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This is a convenient transport route to reduce the pressure on roads and create a new tourism service for local people and tourists, An noted.
The route will operate three types of high-speed boats with a capacity of 18 passengers, 98 passengers and 150 passengers each.
The 78 km route is estimated to take 120 minutes and cost from VND120,000-VND220,000 per passenger depending on which leg is chosen.
