Hanoi wins three major prizes at 2023 World Travel Awards.

These are three important award categories of the WTA, which focus on evaluating criteria related to the attractiveness of short-day tourism activities and services such as night tourism, culinary tourism, and urban experiences in Asian cities.

The winning of the three awards is of significance for Hanoi’s tourism sector in the context that its international tourist market has been gradually recovering since the long period of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Hanoi Municipal Tourism Department was named as Asia's Leading City Tourist Board.

This is the first time the department has won the prize, showing the WTA’s recognition for its remarkable effort to recover the tourism industry after the Covid-19 pandemic amidst many challenges such as climate change and environment pollution.

At the ceremony, Vietravel Airlines was listed as Asia's Leading Airline - Customer Experience 2023.

The WTA was launched in 1993 to acknowledge excellence in the travel and tourism industry. Heralded as the “travel industry’s equivalent of the Oscars” by the Wall Street Journal, the awards are based on votes from the public and travel professionals across the globe.
