Bac Giang builds professional human resources for tourism
Equipping with necessary skills

Since 2019, the investor has focused on professional training for the team such as welcoming guests, communicating, behaving, serving food and cable car service. Currently, the tourist complex has 2 restaurants, 15 electric cars, and 45 cable car cabins to take visitors to Thuong Pagoda.
Operation Director of the tourist complex Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that all labours have intermediate degrees or higher. Annually the company provides training course in communication and professional skills which are appropriate to the task.
In the future, when the project completes phase 2, the business will continue cooperating in fostering, training and improving professional skills in reception, accommodation and foreign languages for this team.
Since early this year, the destination has welcomed about 300,000 visitors, nearly doubling the figure in 2022.
Implementing the resolutions, plans and projects on tourism development of the province, every year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism advises the provincial People's Committee and the provincial Steering Committee for Tourism Development (Steering Committee) to direct units and localities to prepare training plan for tourism human resources.
Some districts such as Viet Yen, Yen Dung and Hiep Hoa also organized contests for tour guides and narrator; established tour guide club targeting to students at primary and secondary schools in the district.
Currently, Bac Giang has about 2,700 labours in the tourism sector, 31 travel businesses, 445 tourist accommodation suppliers and more than 100 tour guides with certificate. Trained workers account for about 40 percent of the total number of labours in the tourism industry.
Training linkage with priority taken to on-site fostering
Among 13 tourist sites and attractions in the province, some places have professional management and serving methods such as community tourist sites in Ven village in Xuan Luong commune (Yen The); Northeast cultural village tourist destination (Luc Ngan), Yen Dung service golf course tourist attraction (Yen Dung), Hoang Hoa Tham historical relic tourist site (Yen The).

During recent lychee crop in Luc Ngan district, many community tourism cooperatives actively built sightseeing tours to serve visitors from southern provinces and cities to the district together with tour guides, pick up service as well as connection with transport agent, restaurants, hotels, gardens and attractions.
Or Muong Thanh Hotel, Ravatel Inn, Ravatel Home (Bac Giang City) and a number of travel businesses in the province also have relatively professional methods to manage, operate and serve tourists, especially reception, bar, food, pick up and drop off services.
After more than 2 years implementing the Provincial Party Committee’s Resolution 112-NQ/TU dated on June 15, 2021 on tourism development in 2021-2025 period with the vision till 2030, the total number of tourists to Bac Giang province was estimated at more than 3 million with tourism revenue of nearly 1.5 trillion VND.
In the first 6 months of 2023, Bac Giang welcomed about 1.3 million visitors, an increase of more than 44 percent year on year, helping promote the image of Bac Giang's land, people and culture as well as contribute to the investment attraction for socio-economic development.
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Do Tuan Khoa said the Department will advise the provincial Party Committee, People's Committee and Steering Committee to direct relevant localities and units to continue implementing the tasks and solutions to improve the quality of local tourism human resources as set out in Resolution No. 112-NQ/TU to meet the requirements for professional qualifications, communication and foreign language skills.
Relevant units enhance collaboration with universities, colleges and businesses to train local tourism human resources and prioritize to foster local human resources with necessary skills as well as train specialized human resources by type, region and tourism area.
More exchange will be made among units, businesses and cooperatives about tourism experience.
