Updated: 19:08, 23/01/2025

Accumulated from the beginning of 2024 to present, the total remittances transferred to Ho Chi Minh City have reached approximately 10.04 billion USD.

On the afternoon of January 22, Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City branch, reported that in the first 20 days of 2025 alone, the city received nearly 493 million USD in remittances.

Remittances to Vietnam are considered a "golden resource" for socio-economic development.

Accumulated from the beginning of 2024 to now, the total amount of remittances transferred to Ho Chi Minh City has reached approximately 10.04 billion USD.

According to Nguyen Duc Lenh, the first month of the year, especially the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, is often considered the "remittance season", with the highest inflows compared to other months.

The remittances sent home during the Lunar New Year period exceeding 10 billion USD by the end of January 2025 is an impressive achievement. It also marks a milestone, with Ho Chi Minh City’s remittances reaching double digits at the start of the new year 2025.

He also stressed the critical role of macroeconomic stability, a stable monetary market, and a flexible exchange rate aligned with market demands.
