According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, after eight years of implementation of the national target programme on building new-style rural areas, 3,595 communes and 56 districts and towns across the country reached new-style rural standards.

Vietnam also has more than 20,000 production development models, creating a new driving force in the development of the rural economy. In order to focus on production and improve people's income, Vietnam is stepping up the implementation of the OCOP programme as an effective solution for developing product groups at commune and district levels.
