Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association’s chapter in Chukyo region visits Bac Giang province

(BGO) - On November 16, Vice Permanent Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province Lai Thanh Son received a delegation from the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association led by Maeda Toshimichi, President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association’s chapter in Chukyo region. Attending the reception were leaders of the Office of the provincial People's Committee, the Department of External Affairs and the Bac Giang city People's Committee.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Lai Thanh Son (right) received the delegation from the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association’s chapter in Chukyo region.

Accordingly, the chapter presented 320 cherry trees to Bac Giang city which were planted in 3/2 Square and Hoang Hoa Tham Park; and 100 trees to Luc Nam district.

To date, the Japanese cherry trees have developed relatively well in Bac Giang's climate and soil conditions. Approximately 60 percent of the trees planted in Bac Giang city are growing well and some of them have bloomed.

By checking the development of the cherry trees, Maeda Toshimichi appreciated the care of the locality. He affirmed that Bac Giang is the province with the highest growth rate of cherry trees among localities receiving this kind of tree from the chapter.

In the coming time, the chapter will continue to present 100 more cherry trees to Bac Giang province. In addition, it is also urgently conducting procedures to finance the construction of a classroom worth about 2 billion VND (85,800 USD) for the Dong Son Primary School in Yen The district.

Speaking at the reception, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Lai Thanh Son expressed his pleasure with the intensively developing friendship between the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association’s chapter in Chukyo region and Bac Giang province. 

Through many meaningful activities, the chapter has brought the Vietnam-Japan friendship to a new height. He wished that in the time to come, the chapter will continue to promote the achievements and regularly organize cultural exchanges to strengthen the solidarity and friendship between the people of the two countries in general and between the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association’s chapter in Chukyo region and Bac Giang province in particular.
