The province has about 29,700 hectares of lychee cultivation, accounting for over 60 percent of the total fruit-growing area, with an estimated output of 165,000 tonnes.

Meeting strict quarantine procedures, Bac Giang lychee has confidently conquered the demanding markets like Japan, US and Europe when it presents in over 30 countries and territories.

European Union (EU) is one of the world’s largest importers of agricultural products, giving gold opportunities for Vietnamese key products, including lychee”, said Trinh Minh Phuong, Director of External Relations, Mova Plus Joint Stock Company.

Mova Plus Joint Stock Company has established branch networks in Czech Republic, France, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium, creating favourable conditions for export.

This year, the company plans to purchase around 5,000 tonnes of fresh fruits to export to the EU, of which Bac Giang lychee takes an important part.

Meeting export requirements of demanding markets such as Japan, EU and US further affirms the Bac Giang lychee brand, serving as a “passport” for this fruit to win all markets around the world.

Bac Giang province defined product quality a vital factor, thus the province has strictly obeyed caring and food safety procedures.

To date, nearly 300 planting area codes have been granted in the province with the total area of over 21,000 hectares in line with more complete processing, packaging and logistics systems.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Thinh affirmed Bac Giang province maintains a consistent directive to ensure the highest quality of lychee and other farm produce, preserve the unique characteristics and fully comply with food safety standards, origin traceability and technical criteria of domestic and international markets.

The province is committed to providing favourable conditions and full support for businesses in carrying out surveys, signing cooperation agreements and consumption of the products.

Besides, it guarantees the product quality, transparency in origin traceability and compliance with strict technical standards of each market.

Bac Giang sells over 60,000 tonnes of lychee

BAC GIANG – As of June 15, Bac Giang province has sold over 60,000 tonnes of lychee, according to the Department of Industry and Trade. About 50,000 tonnes were consumed domestically, while the rest were exported to China, Japan, the United States, Australia, Europe and Canada.
