Bac Giang sells over 60,000 tonnes of lychee

Updated: 16:10, 16/06/2025

BAC GIANG – As of June 15, Bac Giang province has sold over 60,000 tonnes of lychee, according to the Department of Industry and Trade. About 50,000 tonnes were consumed domestically, while the rest were exported to China, Japan, the United States, Australia, Europe and Canada.

Export volumes remain modest, largely because major importers such as China mainly purchase lychees during the peak harvest season. Currently, only early-harvest lychees are available in limited quantities, which has constrained export activities.

To boost consumption, local authorities and trade agencies have ramped up marketing and logistical support. Measures include monitoring market trends, providing information to farmers and traders, and facilitating supply chain connections.

Additional efforts involve ensuring smooth transportation, access to weighing stations, electricity, water, credit services and security.

Digital marketing initiatives and online sales platforms are being promoted. Events such as the "Luc Ngan Lychee Week" are being held in industrial parks, and sales channels are being expanded at popular tourist destinations. Trade promotion missions, including outreach to European markets, are also underway.

Thanks to these coordinated efforts, lychee sales have been generally favorable. High-quality fruit with appealing appearance continues to fetch prices ranging from 20,000 to 25,000 VND (0.8 – 1.1 USD) per kilogram at the farm gate.
