Bac Giang promotes trade in European markets
BAC GIANG – As part of its effort to expand the reach of local products into international markets, including Europe, Bac Giang Province has launched a trade promotion delegation to France, Germany and the Czech Republic this year. The delegation is led by Nghiem Xuan Huong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council.
Upon arrival in Europe, the delegation participated in several activities organized by the Vietnam Trade Office in France. They held meetings with French supermarket chains to negotiate the distribution of Bac Giang lychee in the French market.

The delegation surveys the Rungis International Market in France—one of the largest wholesale markets in Europe that distributes Bac Giang lychee. |
The team also met with Vietnamese associations, expatriate communities and businesses in France to explore market opportunities, promote products, connect lychee and agricultural product supply chains and seek investment into Bac Giang.
The delegation is also scheduled to work with the Vietnamese Embassy and Trade Office in Germany and the Czech Republic. Promotion efforts include introducing Bac Giang lychee at supermarket chains and distribution companies, and conducting field surveys at several food supply chains, wholesale markets and major retail outlets such as Kaufland, Albert and Tesco in the Czech Republic.
The team is expected to meet with Tamda Group and representatives of the Sa Pa Market – a major wholesale hub for the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.
Additionally, Bac Giang lychee will be promoted through the distribution networks of Mova Plus JSC, a company specializing in agricultural exports. The delegation will also connect with Vietnamese businesses and overseas Vietnamese to boost agricultural trade and attract investment into the province.
This activity is designed to gather insights into market trends, import-export regulations, quality standards and technical barriers related to lychee and key agricultural products destined for the European market.
It is also an opportunity to promote local products, facilitate trade connections and introduce lychee-based processed goods and other signature products of Bac Giang to a broader international audience.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, as of June 13, Bac Giang harvested and sold approximately 54,000 tonnes of lychee. Of this, around 50,000 tonnes are early-ripening varieties and the rest are main-season lychees.
