Ha Noi to launch fireworks at five sites for 80th National Day anniversary
To mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Viet Nam’s National Day (September 2), Ha Noi will host a series of celebratory events culminating in high-altitude fireworks displays at five major locations across the city on the evening of September 2.
Chairman of the Ha Noi Municipal People’s Committee, Tran Sy Thanh, has signed Plan No. 158/KH-UBND outlining the commemorative activities.

A grand national-level celebration, including a military parade, will be held in coordination with central agencies and the armed forces.
The fireworks displays will take place at Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake, My Dinh National Stadium, and West Lake.
Ha Noi will also co-organise a national scientific conference with the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences, focusing on the role, lessons, and historical values of the August Revolution and National Day. The event highlights Ha Noi’s revolutionary tradition in the struggle for national independence and development.
In partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city will also stage an exhibition showcasing the socio-economic achievements and signature products from both the capital and nation. A commemorative logo and identity set will be unveiled to foster patriotic spirit and civic pride.
In line with Viet Nam’s tradition of gratitude, Ha Noi will visit and present gifts to policy beneficiaries and families of revolutionary contributors.
Educational initiatives, including school contests and historic site tours, aim to instill patriotism in the younger generations. A live TV broadcast and a poster design contest will also be held to encourage broad public engagement in celebrating the nation’s revolutionary legacy.
