Lychee-based products diversify local specialties and boost tourism
BAC GIANG – In addition to fresh and dried lychee, producers in Luc Ngan District and Chu Township of Bac Giang province are creating an array of processed goods, helping diversify local agri-products and promote tourism-oriented gift items.
Local businesses and cooperatives are producing yogurt, wine, tea, cakes, cleaning products and vinegar made from lychee. Notable examples include lychee-infused bread made with lychee juice instead of sugar, sponge cake using fermented lychee juice, and Lychee Wine (Le Chi brand) from Dong Dao Tourism Cooperative.

Le Chi wine ferments for 60 days before being distilled and bottled with attractive packaging. A Hai Phong-based partner has also developed lychee-scented wax candles highlighting local culture.

Phuc Lam Trading and Service Company in Hanoi collaborated to launch a lychee enzyme drink which are made by using Japanese fermentation technology, saffron and lychee, offering health benefits.

Other products include lychee tea by Tru Huu Tourism Cooperative, and natural cleaning liquids such as dishwashing, floor, and glass cleaners developed by Luc Ngan Xanh Cooperative.

At the "Essence of Vietnamese Fruit" tourism event, local cooperatives showcased dishes and beverages made from lychee, including lychee-bitter melon soup, stir-fried lychee, lychee shrimp, smoothies and more, aiming to capture tourist interest and expand the souvenir market.
