Bac Giang streamlines lychee exports with authorized code system
BAC GIANG – Bac Giang province has, for the first time, implemented an authorization system for lychee growing area and packaging facility codes, resulting in smoother export procedures and better access to high-end markets.
The province currently has 29 authorized planting area codes covering 11,602 hectares and 16 authorized packaging facilities, handling a combined export volume of 45,300 tonnes. Most codes and facilities are located in Luc Ngan district and Chu township.

The delegation mechanism allows code holders to authorize third parties to export on their behalf, under strict supervision and transparency requirements. The system meets growing demands for traceability and food safety from markets like the U.S., Japan and Europe.

To date, Bac Giang maintains 304 planting area codes, including 240 dedicated to lychee, and 39 packaging facilities for export to countries such as China, Japan, South Korea and the U.S.
Over 42,000 tonnes of lychee have been consumed this season, with successful shipments to China, Europe, the U.S., Canada and Japan. Major exporters include Dragon Berry Vietnam, Mova Plus, Global Food Import-Export JSC, Red Dragon Trading, and Ameii Vietnam.
