Nguyen Van Bang bravely saves people in need

(BGO) – Nguyen Van Bang (born in 1976) is a staff at the Children Protection Foundation (CPF) under the Department of the Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in Bac Giang province. Recently, he has bravely saved a woman when she intentionally jumped off to Thuong river. 

Besides his present job at the CPF, Bang is the owner of Du thuyen Restaurant anchored on the bank of Thuong river near My Do bridge, Bac Giang city.

He recalled: “It was around 8 pm when I stood on the prow and heard someones shouting for help from the bridge. Observing in the middle of the river, I saw a lonely woman in the flow. I took the available life jacket on the restaurant, jumped off the boat, swam about 300 meters to the fierce water and saved the woman. At that time, she was choked on much water but not really risk to her life”. After taking the victim to the boat, the restaurant’s staff contacted her family to pick her up.

Because Bang was born in Dong Son commune (Yen The district) by the river, he can swim from early childhood. When still living in the hometown, Bang used to jump off the deep well to save a friend falling down there. 

Or another time when he travelled from home to Bac Giang city, Bang witnessed an accident and two unconscious victims in Trang town (Lang Giang district). Immediately, he moved to the pavement, stopped the motorbike and called other people to take them to the hospital.

Nguyen Van Bang visits the children living in specially difficult circumstance in Yen Son commune (Luc Nam district).

When starting the business on the boat, he actively equips the restaurant with many life jackets to ensure the safety for the customer and be ready to save the people in need.

According to his colleagues at the provincial CPF, Bang is an enthusiasm man with full responsibility. He takes no hesitation to visit the remote hamlets, villages to ask after and support the impoverished children.

“It is a normal action to help the needy people. I think that anyone should do the same to create a better life together,” Bang shared.
