Children’s painting contest contributes to environmental protection

A ceremony was held at Trung Yen Primary School in Hanoi on April 2, to launch a painting contest for children, themed ‘For a green Vietnam’.

The contestants are Vietnamese children aged from 6 to 15, who are students at kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools, children places and centres around the country.

This year’s contest is expected to raise awareness of environmental protection among children, enabling them to take specific actions.

Entries should be painted on A3 paper with different kinds of elective colours: pencil, pigments, crayons, oil painting, watercolour, colourful felt pens and others.

Paintings must include the full information of contestants, including their full name, date of birth, schools, classes, school addresses, home addresses and phone number (if any).

Contestants should send their entries, which have not been exhibited or published, to the Vietnam Children Support and Development in 64 Ba Trieu Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, before November 1.

The organising board will present a Special prize as well as two first, four second, ten third and 20 consolation prizes.

In addition, five A prizes and ten B prizes will be awarded to 15 units with the most contestants and winning entries.

The contest contributes to nurturing and encouraging the ability of fine arts and creativity among children.
