Having a hobby of raising pets since he was a pupil, Binh was determined to pass the entrance exam to the Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Science Department of the Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University.

Being active and clear-headed, right from the second year of university, the student has been working with teacher Tran Duc Hoan, Dean of the Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Science Department to provide checkup and treatment for livestock of households in Viet Yen district. As a result, Binh learned a lot from outside the lecture hall such as basic epidemiological characteristics, animal breeding methods that affect health, and especially the treatment of domestic animals.

The club is a very useful playground for children during summer days, helping to teach Quan ho (love duet) folk songs and better maintain national cultural identity. The center will coordinate with the concerned units to continue disseminating and launching Quan ho singing contests to link children with the tradition of the homeland, contributing to the preservation and development of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity

Doan Quang Bieu, Deputy Director of the Culture and Information Center of Viet Yen district.

With the experience from reality, at the end of 2016, Binh and his team in the department proposed a student startup project called "Veterinary Clinic”. Accordingly, each member of the team actively published information about medical examination and treatment for domestic animals on the social network.

Thanks to this, many customers knew the services and came to the "clinic" managed by the students. This idea was appreciated by the provincial Youth Union in the contest "Startup Ideas in Agriculture" held in September 2017. The first startup project helped the team members gather a lot of experience.

In addition, Binh is also busy with studying and practicing in companies and clinics. Besides the "Veterinary Clinic", he is also chairman as well as a member of many research projects and startup ideas in agriculture which are highly valued by the university’s Managing Board.

Basing on these results, at the beginning of 2018, Binh advised the Youth Union and Managing Board of the university to establish a 15-member student startup club. As the club’s head, Nguyen Van Binh has organized many training activities on skills to manage human resources and start a business for students in the school.

He said: "In September this year, the club will build and put a book cafe model into operation. This idea was strongly supported by the university’s Managing Board. At present, the club is actively mobilizing capital resources and finding a venue. From this model, the club wants to create a reading habit and initiate the reading culture among students and young people. At the same time, the club members will have the experience of starting a business right at the university"

Not only owning many scientific research projects, from 2014 to 2017, Binh was also the head of a club for mobilizing voluntary blood donations in the university. He has voluntarily donated blood five times.

In every summer, Binh participates in the "Green Summer" volunteer programme. Together with other volunteers, he supports the transfer of scientific and technical advances to youth union members and people in many disadvantaged communes in Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang and Lao Cai provinces.

With these contributions, Nguyen Van Binh was honored to be one of 32 individuals receiving the "October 15" Award in 2016 by the provincial Youth Federation. He was also presented a certificate of merit by the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee for his outstanding achievements in the campaign "Mobilizing voluntary blood donations for Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday” and the Pink Spring Festival.
