Tran Cong Thang, President of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, receives the support for the “For the Poor” Fund from General Director of the Tuan Mai Trading Joint Stock Company Tran Anh Tuan.

From the mobilized fund and other support sources, since October 2018, the whole province has supported poor households in building and repairing 929 houses, worth more than 84 billion VND (3.6 million USD), helping them stabilize their lives; mobilized 38,341 gifts, valued at nearly 19 billion VND (820,460 USD) and more than 90,000 gifts in kind for poor and near-poor households during the Lunar New Year festival; supported poor families' children to overcome difficulties in study and poor patients with medical examination and treatment, thus contributing positively to reducing the rate of poor households in the province.

These are the sentiments and valuable resources of collectives, individuals and people of all strata who have supported, cared for and helped the poor over the past years.

However, by the end of 2018, Bac Giang province still had 33,156 poor households, accounting for 7.29 percent. Among those, many households with special difficulties in housing are in need of attention and support from the State and community to improve their lives and try to escape poverty sustainably.

Promoting the tradition of "mutual support" of the Vietnamese nation, on the occasion of the peak month for the poor (from October 17 to November 18, 2019) and the 89th Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930-2019), the provincial Fatherland Front Committee cum the board for mobilizing capital for the “For the Poor" Fund of the province call on agencies at all levels, agencies, organizations, units, localities, enterprises, businessmen, officiers and soldiers of the armed forces, and people of all strata across the province to uphold the spirit of solidarity and actively respond to the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind" by the most practical actions, contributing both material and spiritual support to help poor and near poor households to escape poverty and stabilise their lives.
