Permanent NA Vice Chairwoman visits and presents gifts to people in flood-hit areas

During her working trip in the central province of Thua Thien Hue, Politburo member and Permanent National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong visited and presented gifts to local people who have been affected by the historical floods in the two districts of Phong Dien and Quang Dien.

She lauded the provincial authorities’ efforts to deal with the consequences of flooding and promptly provide food and other essentials items to flood-hit residents, as well as the efforts to rescue the missing construction workers at the Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant.

NA Vice Chairwoman Phong presents VND400 million to the districts of Quang Dien and Phong Dien.

The NA leader asked Thua Thien Hue to arrange shelter for those whose homes were swept away while ensuring that no-one is left hungry or homeless after the floodwaters recede.

Sharing in the difficulties facing the local people, NA Vice Chairwoman Phong presented VND400 million to the districts of Quang Dien and Phong Dien.

On the occasion, she also passed a gift of VND100 million from Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh to support the Learning Encouragement Fund in Phong Dien District.

The NA Vice Chairwoman and members of the working delegation also offered incense and presented gifts the family of martyr Nguyen Van Binh, late Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phong Dien District, one of the 13 cadres and soldiers who lost their lives while on a rescue mission at the Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant; and visited the family of Hoang Thi P., a pregnant woman from Phong An Commune, Phong Dien District, who was lost in the flood.
