Phat moc ritual held to build Upper sanctuary of Tay Yen Tu’s Lower pagoda

(BGO) – Le phat moc (wood logging ritual) was held on April 13 by the Construction Management Board (CMB) of Tay Yen Tu spiritual cultural site at the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Phu Ninh commune, Soc Son district (Hanoi) to build Thuong dien (Upper sanctuary) of Ha pagoda (Lower pagoda) in Tuan Mau commune, Son Dong distric, Bac Giang province.

The ceremony was attended by Nguyen Van Linh, Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee; Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha (VBS) Executive Council and CMB Head of Tay Yen Tu spiritual cultural site; Hoang Van Nghien, former member of the Central Party’s Committee and former Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee; Do Duc Ha, member of the Standing Committee and Head of the provincial Party’s Committee’s Board of Propaganda and Education; leaders of the provincial Fatherland Front’s Committee, departments, sectors, agencies, Son Dong district and several enterprises.

Addressing the event, Chairman Nguyen Van Linh said the launching ceremony of the first Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival early this year drew a great attention from numerous Buddhist followers, residents and visitors nationwide as an important issue in terms of local politics, economy and culture. The Phat moc ritual aimed at completing the construction items in the Lower pagoda in particular and Tay Yen Tu spiritual ecotourism complex in general.

Additionally, the CMB of Tay Yen Tu spiritual cultural site was urged to closely supervise the tasks and execute the project in line with the technique, aesthetic and schedule, targeting to promptly complete the Lower pagoda. The provincial authority will instruct the local departments, sector and agencies to create the favorable conditions and call for enterprises to join hand in the project construction.

Chairman Linh further informed about the plan to basically complete the Tay Yen Tu’s cable station by June to finish the whole service area as well as inaugurate the cable system in the upcoming Independence Day (September 2).

The rituals of incense offering and Phat moc were executed by the provincial leaders and representatives. Besides, they visited and offered incense at Non Nuoc pagoda, Soc temple and Saint Giong monument.
