Viet Yen township focuses on vocational training and job conversion
BAC GIANG - Recently, Viet Yen township (Bac Giang province) has reclaimed hundreds of hectares of land from many families and individuals for project implementation. Accordingly, several households have no more land for cultivation or have their production land area reduced, leading to change their occupations. In order to ensure social security in the area, the town always focuses on supporting, training and changing occupations.
According to the Division of Natural Resources and Environment of Viet Yen township, since 2021, the locality has cleared land and recovered more than 374.4 hectares of land (related to nearly 16,300 households) to execute projects.

Households whose land has been reclaimed are all supported with training and career conversion according to regulations, with a total budget of nearly 578 billion VND. To help such households, in addition to fund for training and career conversion, the local authority also integrates many support and vocational training programs to help people start businesses.
Implementing Project 939 "Supporting women to start up businesses in the period of 2017-2025", the Town Women's Union also assisted, established and maintained the operation of 5 cooperation groups and women's groups linking production and trading of safe agricultural products as well as 3 cooperatives producing safe agricultural products.
All chapters of the Union coordinated with functional agencies to open 205 classes to transfer science and technology on cultivation, animal husbandry and supply fertilizer for members to develop production, attracting more than 12,000 participants.
Through training courses, many trainees participated in building a model of concentrated commodity production, production according to VietGAP standards with high economic value.
Along with implementing Project 939, to help local children have jobs, meet the labor demand in industrial parks and clusters, business and service, the People's Committee of Viet Yen township directed the Division of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Center for Vocational Training and Regular Education of the township to coordinate with related units to implement various forms of support and vocational training for students.

Apart from cultural teaching, the Center for Vocational Training and Regular Education of the township also joins hand with many professional colleges to train 12 occupations for students such as: Fashion sewing, civil electricity, industrial electricity, applied informatics and e-commerce among others.
Through various forms of support, since 2021, Viet Yen township has trained and created more than 3,000 new jobs per year on average, exceeding 23.3% of the target set by local Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.
The labor structure has shifted positively. The proportion of workers in the industrial - construction and service sectors accounts for more than 80%, higher than the rate of the whole province...
