Vietnam Airlines to start Hanoi-Phnom Penh route in late October
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced that it will officially launch a direct route between Hanoi and Phnom Penh on Oct. 27.
The route, with a schedule of four flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, will offer a new option for passengers in addition to the current four routes between Vietnam and Cambodia, which are HCMC- Phnom Penh; Hanoi, and HCMC- Siem Reap; and one trans-Indochina route.

The total number of flights between the two countries will increase to 86 flights per week.
Vietnam Airlines is the only Vietnamese airline operating the direct flight route from Hanoi to Phnom Penh. With this route, passengers traveling from Hanoi to the capital of Cambodia will have their travel time reduced to just over two hours.
The new route is expected to enhance the connection and trade network between the two countries, thus creating great attraction for tourists from Japan, South Korea and European countries who want to travel to Vietnam and other destinations in the region.
On the occasion, Vietnam Airlines is offering a promotion with round-trip tickets priced from $262 for passengers purchasing tickets from now until Sept. 30, with the travel period from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2.
