Vietnam brings in biggest revenue for Aeon Mall in ASEAN
The Vietnam market contributed JPY12.5 billion (US$79 million) to the revenue of Japanese retailer Aeon Mall last year, the largest in ASEAN and third highest globally.
The figure went up 13.7% from 2023 and accounted for 16.2% of Aeon Mall’s overseas revenues, according to a company filing.

Revenue from Vietnam was the third largest behind Japan and China.
In ASEAN Vietnam exceeded Aeon Mall’s two other markets, Cambodia and Indonesia.
Vietnam is considered Aeon’s second most important market behind Japan, CEO of Aeon Vietnam Furusawa Yasuyuki said in September last year, adding that the Japanese retailer had invested $1.5 billion into the country over the course of 10 years.
Aeon Mall has been ramping up expansion in Vietnam in recent months, with projects being developed in Ha Long in the north, Da Nang and Thanh Hoa in the central region and Bien Hoa in the south.
