Delegates cut the ribbon to open the 2018 Vietnam Craft Village Trade Fair.

The exhibits include unique and refined handicraft products, agro-forestry and fishery products, food and beverages, souvenirs, and specialties of localities across the country.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Hoang Van Thang, the trade fair aims to promote the value of Vietnamese craft villages and address the limitations in developing the market and connecting stages in the craft village value chain.

The fair is an important trade promotion event of Vietnam’s agricultural sector in 2018, seeking to facilitate economic exchanges and the advertising of craft village brands and products, while encouraging production establishments to participate in the “One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) programme, contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional craft villages and new industries in accordance with the socio-economic development trend.

Many activities are scheduled within the framework of the event, including an international seminar on the OCOP programme and a section displaying the creation of handicraft and fine art products by artisans from traditional craft villages.
