One of the pillars of such a process is cloud computing, the demand for which has been growing steadily in recent years.
Speaking at the event, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said domestic firms have mastered telecommunications infrastructure and a similar feat must be achieved in relation to the digital infrastructure.
He underlined the importance of cloud infrastructure development, given that digital infrastructure is basically the combination of the telecommunications infrastructure and cloud computing.
Vietnam is one of the earliest countries to have adopted a set of criteria and technical specifications for cloud computing services and it is expected that more and more Vietnamese cloud providers will reach such standards in the future, in addition to the 11 companies attending the campaign launch.
VNG Cloud CEO Vu Minh Tri said that these 11 enterprises have mastered cloud computing infrastructure and technology, making the service affordable and independent of foreign providers.
At the event, these cloud providers pledged to cut their service costs by 20% in order to facilitate government agencies and businesses with faster digital transformation.
