Vietnam to receive 1 million more vaccine doses from Japan

One million doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine donated by Japan are expected to be delivered to Vietnam on July 1 and July 8, the Ministry of Health said on June 29.
Plus another one million doses already delivered on June 16, Japan has to date presented 2 million doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine to Vietnam.

"Japan's donation of vaccines to Vietnam is a testament for the profound friendship between the two countries," the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam said in a statement on June 25.
The vaccine doses will help Vietnam fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
An online international symphony concert connecting Vietnam with the world will be organised to support the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund, while the largest-ever vaccination campaign is running.
The tourism ministry is urgently working on a plan for welcoming international tourists with the so-called Covid-19 vaccine passports to Phu Quoc Island in Kien Giang Province.
The national Covid-19 vaccine fund received over VND 6.6 billion from 17 sponsors at a ceremony on June 24.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested accelerating the transfer of vaccine production technology and the testing and production of home-grown vaccine for Covid-19, so that Vietnam will be able to produce Covid-19 vaccines no later than June 2022.
The U.S. has announced the destinations of 55 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, and Vietnam is among them.
