Vietnamese students win four medals at the European Physics Olympiad

The Vietnamese team, comprising five high school students, earned four medals — including two gold, one silver, and one bronze — as well as one certificate of merit at the 9th European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO), held in Bulgaria from June 13-17.

According to information released by Ha Noi University of Science and Technology (HUST) on the evening of June 17, the Vietnamese delegation achieved outstanding results at the 2025 edition of the competition.

The Vietnamese team comprised five high school students at the European Physics Olympiad.

The gold medals were awarded to Nguyen Tran Hieu from Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted (Bac Ninh Province)and Nguyen Le Dang Khoa from the High School for the Gifted under the Viet Nam National University-Ho Chi Minh City.

The silver medal went to Tran Nguyen Khai from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted (Nghe An Province). Meanwhile, the bronze medal was granted to Cap Kim Hoang Bao from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted(Da Nang City).

Ha Tuan Kiet from Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted (Bac Ninh Province) received the certificate of merit.

The European Physics Olympiad is an annual competition for high school students from European countries, with select guest nations from outside the continent among them, including Viet Nam.

Each participating country sends a team of five students to compete in two components including a five-hour theoretical exam and a five-hour experimental exam.
