Durians are waiting to be exported to China.

Vietnam’s fruit and vegetables were mainly exported to China, Japan, the US, the Republic of Korea and the Netherlands — which all posted strong growth except for the US, which saw a slight decrease.

Specifically, exports to China soared 134% to 2.26 billion USD, while the respective growth figures for the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, and Japan were 50%, 18% and 6%.

China was also the largest importer of Vietnamese fruit and vegetables, followed by the US and the Republic of Korea.

Durian was an impressive performer, shooting up by 700% to reach 1.28 billion USD during the January-August period thanks to strong demand from China.

The export revenue of durian is expected to hit 1.5 billion in October.
