Updated: 08:22, 17/11/2024

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a ceremony on November 16 in Hanoi to honour the winners of the 2024 National Press Awards on the cause of Vietnamese education.

Through the awards, the organisers wish to praise the contributions of the education sector to national construction and defence, as well as attract social attention to the cause of Vietnamese education.

The Voice of Vietnam receives the special prize for their reports on teacher shortages.

At the ceremony, the organisers presented one special prize, four first-place prizes, eight second-place prizes, 12 third-place prizes and 32 consolation prizes.

The special prize went to a group of journalists from the Voice of Vietnam for a series of reports on the shortage of teachers and how to attract talented students to choose to become teachers.

The first-place prizes were given to reporters from the Education and Times Newspaper, the CPV Online Newspaper, Thai Binh Radio and Television, and Vinh Long Radio and Television.

The organisers also presented the impressive character awards to three teachers featured in reports by Quang Binh Newspaper and Vinh Long Radio and Television.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, MOET Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son said it was an occasion to recognise the media’s contributions to spreading the fine values of education.

He added that the participants in this year’s awards depicted a lively picture of Vietnamese education, including challenges in curricular reform, students who overcome difficulties to pursue their studies and dedicated teachers all over the country.
