Outstanding teacher Pham Thi Thuy
Diligent dedication
Born into a family with parents being typical teachers in the land of Phuong Hoang (Phoenix), from her young age, Thuy cherished the dream of continuing the family tradition. In 1993, she enrolled in the Faculty of Primary Education of the Ngo Gia Tu College to realize her ambition.

At that time, students graduating from the Faculty of Primary Education were mainly assigned to teach in mountainous districts of the province, but because she graduated with excellent degree, Thuy was able to work in her home district. Even during her probation period at the Duc Giang Primary School, she affirmed her pedagogical abilities and skills.
Finishing the internship, she was the youngest teacher in the province to win the title of excellent teacher at the provincial level. With outstanding achievements, in the 1997-1998 school year, she was transferred to the district's key educational facility, Canh Thuy Primary School, to realize the goal of developing talent education.
Here, teacher Pham Thi Thuy has always showed innovative and creative ways in teaching to transmit enthusiasm and eagerness to learn to her students. As the leader of the professional group for grades 2 and 3, she always pays close attention to managing professional activities.
With her experience and love for profession, she has focused on training thinking ability and building appropriate learning methods for each student. Flexible in delivering lessons, she uses games, images, videos, and stories to stir student excitement and help them deeply understand the lessons.
She confided: "I not only teach students knowledge in textbooks, but also equip them with communication and behavioral skills, creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere so they can absorb lessons effectively."

From teaching practice, Thuy has had 12 initiatives applied such as the methods of teaching writing in the direction of developing capacity for 3rd graders and fostering literary appreciation capacity for elementary school students.
Many of her in-depth articles on innovating teachers' teaching methods have been published on domestic and foreign educational magazines. The initiatives and articles are summarized in the process of teaching and researching to make the lectures suitable to the reality of her school and class.
Appraising many educational programmes
Considered a teacher with the skills to lead students to learn and link problems in a logical and summarised way, she was appointed by the provincial Department of Education and Training to participate in training to become a core teacher at the primary level.

Since the 2013-2014 school year, Thuy has been invited by the Department of Primary Education under the Ministry of Education and Training to deliver model lessons for filming to use as guiding documents serving the teaching of 5th grade Vietnamese nationwide.
In 2017, she was selected by the Ministry of Education and Training as a member of the National Council for evaluating Vietnamese learning guiding materials for grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 according to the Vietnam Escuela Nueva (VNEN) school model. She was also invited to participate in training and guiding teachers in the northern provinces how to master the new teaching programme.
In particular, she is one of two primary school teachers in the country to join the National Council for appraising subjects and overall general education activities and the National Council for appraising teaching guiding materials according to the 2018 general education programme.

With unremitting efforts during 27 years of work, Thuy has been an excellent teacher at the district and provincial levels for 24 years, and won the title of “Emulation Fighter” at the grassroots and provincial levels for 12 years. She also recevied the certificates of merit from the Minister of Education and Training and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee 6 times.
