100 customers install rooftop solar power system for living demand

According to Bac Giang Electricity Company, Bac Giang province has 100
customers who installed the rooftop solar power system for living demand,
including 18 families in Lang Giang district, 16 in Viet Yen district, 17 in Yen
Dung district and 49 in Bac Giang city.
The total capacity of solar power for living demand reached more than 594,000 kWp, helping the power sector to cut down more than 868,000 kWh per year.

To facilitate the development of solar power, Bac Giang Electricity Company and its member organizations in the districts and city installed two-way meters to these above mentioned households. It they do not use all of the created energy, the families can sell the redundant power to the electricity company with regulated price.
The action aims to ease the overload of the grid power and protect the environment.
The Vietnam Solar Power Expo 2019 opened in Hanoi on September 25, drawing 48 exhibitors and more than 300 enterprises.
A 420 MW solar power project, the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, has officially started production in Tay Ninh.
The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) anticipated that the capacity of rooftop solar power will reach approximately 2,000 MW by the end of 2020,contributing to ensuring power security.
The Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority of the Ministry of Industry and Trade launched a programme to boost the development of rooftop solar power in Vietnam at a workshop held in Ho Chi Minh City on July 25.
As of June 30, as many as 82 solar power plants with a combined capacity of 4,460MW had been connected to the national grid, according to the Vietnam Electricity (EVN) group.
