32 outstanding runners awarded at “Run to the Peak of Holy Mountain” Marathon
The runners raced at 2 distances including 5km and 10km (trail running). Of which, 1,200 runners participated in the 5km run category while the 10km category lured 800 runners.

The organizing board changed the running path at the 10km category. Particularly, the runners conquered the peak of Dong pagoda (in Quang Ninh province) at the height of 1,068 metres then returned Thuong Pagoda of Tay Yen Tu tourism complex (in Bac Giang province).
This tournament had many new features, particularly the number of runners increased by more than 1,000 including foreign runners. Specially, the runners were called to donate to the Fund for vulnerable young people by Vietnam Youth Federation of Bac Giang province. 130 million VND (5,544 USD) was donated to the Fund as of March 31, 2023.
Despite rainy and cloudy weather and hard paths with steep slopes, rocky cliffs and slippery roads, the runners attempted to safely finish the race.
Finally, 4 sets of awards with 32 prizes were awarded to male and female runners with high achievements at 5km and 10 km race distances. Besides, 4 runners winning first prize were awarded certificate of merit by Bac Giang provincial Youth Union.
Runner Ba Van Han (from Vietnam Border Guard’s sport delegation) won first prize at men’s 5km category and runner Khuat Phuong Anh (from Hanoi) won first prize and women’s 5km category.
At the 10km category (trail running), the first prizes came to runner Hoang Viet Vy Ly for men and Nguyen Thi Thanh for women, both of whom are from Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province.
This is the 3rd consecutive year Bac Giang provincial Youth Union and VPBank jointly held the Community Marathon Tournament. The VPBank Bac Giang International Marathon themed “Run to the Peak of Holy mountain” is a useful playground contributing to cheering and spreading the running movement in the officers and youth union members and boosting the campaign “All people do exercises following the great example of Uncle Ho”.
