Vietnam International Half Marathon is jointly held by Vietnam Athletics Federation and Hanoi People’s Committee, which is licensed by Asian Athletics Association. 

Nguyen Thi Oanh wins the women's 21.1km elite category of the first Vietnam International Half Marathon in Hanoi on January 1.

The tournament, with the running route around Hoan Kiem Lake and many streets in Hoan Kiem and Ba Dinh districts, lured more than 5,000 elite and amateur runners who ran in half marathon, 5km, 10km and 21km distances. Besides, the organisers held a category for people with disabilities, who ran in 1.5 km distance.

At the women’s 21 km event for professional athletes, Nguyen Thi Oanh, who topped the list of Vietnam’s best athletes in 2022, finished first with a time of 1hr 15.23min.

For the men’s 21 km race, the representatives of the national and military teams including Do Quoc Luat, Nguyen Van Lai and Trinh Quoc Luong lead most of the race. Finally, Do Quoc Luat won the first position with a time of 1 hr 7.39 min.

Nguyen Thi Oanh crowns champion at VP Bank Hanoi Marathon 2022
