She reached the finished line after 16 minutes 55 seconds 68, followed by Pham Thi Hong Le of Binh Dinh province after 17 minutes 1 seconds 36 and Lo Thi Thanh of Son La delegation after 17 minutes 3 seconds 16.

Right after Oanh won the gold medal, the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism in Bac Giang province gave bonus to her. It is her second golds at the ongoing sport event after the achievement at women’s 3,000 meter steeplechase on December 14. Oanh will enter final run for 1,500 meter and 10,000 meter contents on December 17.

(BGO) – Bac Giang born runner Nguyen Thi Oanh won two golds in athletics at the ongoing 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) on May 14, the second official day of competition, at Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium.  Oanh successfully defended her titles in the women’s 1,500m and 5,000m events.
