A teacher of many excellent students

(BGO)- During her 12 years of working, teacher Duong Thi Luyen (born in 1983) of Ngoc Van junior high school in Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province has been awarded the title of the provincial excellent teacher for 10 consecutive years who has taken part in nurturing the district’s excellent students in Civic Education. The excellent students’ team of teacher Luyen has won a number of high prizes for many years.

After graduating from the Faculty of political education, Thai Nguyen University of Pedagogy in 2006, Luyen was chosen to teach at Phong Van junior high school, Luc Ngan district. 2 years later, she was appointed to Ngoc Van junior high school to teach the Civic Education subject.

Regarding her appointment, teacher Luyen strictly obeys the professional regulations, prepares lesson plans, checks and returns the students’ test papers as regulated. For the students, she always makes great efforts to seek the appropriate teaching methods to encourage her students’ initiatives. 

Besides, she keeps close collaboration with the students’ families while checking her students’ understanding after each lesson, providing revision questions and outlines to the students and guiding them on how to use reference books. Thus, her classes have a high rate of good students without weak students.

Since the academic year of 2012-2013 after the provincial Department of Education and Training decided to organize the excellent student contest in Civic Education, she was chosen to take part in training the excellent students’ team of the district.

“In order to lure the attention of the students to learning, I often collect illustrative pictures and images for my lessons. Besides, I tell them the real stories about specific situation conforming to the ethical standards helping them easy to understand and memorize”, said Luyen.

Thanks to her method, in the first year attending the excellent student training team, 7 out of 8 of her students won the provincial student contest. So far, her excellent students’ team has won many high prizes. Particularly, in the academic year of 2017-2018, all 8 of her students won the provincial prize in this subject.

For her outstanding results, Luyen has won the title of the emulative soldier at grassroots and provincial levels and awarded the certificate of merit by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee. In the academic year of 2016-2017, she was awarded the certificate of merit by the Minister of Education and Training for her dramatic achievements in her teaching career.

(BGO) – Today (September 5), over 468,000 teachers and students of all grades in the northern province of Bac Giang together with millions of students nationwide were excited at backing to school to join in the opening ceremony the of new academic year 2018 – 2019.   
 
Learning English with foreign teachers still sees shortcomings
(BGO) - Implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TU dated March 31, 2016 of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, in the past two academic years, schools in Bac Giang province have applied a new model: learning English with foreign teachers. Initially, the model has brought about certain renovations, encouraging the English learning movement in schools. However, there are still shortcomings that need to be fixed.
 
Teacher helps deepen Vietnam-Laos friendship
(BGO) – More than a half of century ago, teacher Mac Khai, 71, in Dong Doai village, Tan Hiep commune, Yen The district, taught Lao students at the Central Mountainous School (later renamed the T78 Friendship School) based in Kim Trang village, Viet Lap commune of Tan Yen district. Over the past years, he has devoted a lot of time to collect information, documents and objects on the Vietnam-Laos friendship.
