Additional 38,000 tonnes of rice to be exported

Online customs declaration services will be made available for exports of additional 38,000 tonnes of rice at 0:00 am on April 26, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
The volume is part of Vietnam’s 400,000-tonne-rice export quota for April.
Earlier this month, the government of Vietnam has limited the export rice volume to 800,000 tonnes for April and May as a measure to ensure sufficient domestic supplies amid high global demand caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

This volume is reduced by 40% compared to that in April and May 2019. It is also 35.7% and 21.7% lower than the same period in 2018 and 2017, respectively.
Meanwhile, the national rice reserves will increase from 300,000 to 700,000 tonnes.

Luc Nam enjoys bumper harvest of pineapple with higher selling price

– For recent years, the pineapple in Luc Nam district (Bac Giang province) have
sharply reduced down to 2 – 3,000 VND per kilogram, causing deep concern to the
farmers. This year, they enjoy a bumper season with higher productivity and
selling prize. The price at the beginning period fluctuates from 8 – 10,000 VND
per kg.
Ministry issues rice export quotas for April
Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh has signed on decision announcing the rice export quota for April after the Prime Minister gave the green light to resume exporting the product.
RoK to offer 5% preferential import tax on over 55,000 tonnes of Vietnamese rice
The Republic of Korea (RoK) is expected to import 50% of its total quota of 55,112 tonnes of rice from Vietnam in the tender scheduled this May with a preferential import tax rate of 5%.
Bac Giang: Stable food supply, reduced prices
(BGO) - In the first days of implementing the Prime
Minister's direction on the suspension of operation of services providing establishments,
except for those supplying essential goods and services to prevent and combat the
Covid-19 pandemic, supplies of food, foodstuff and daily necessities in Bac
Giang have been stable. However, prices and purchasing power have fluctuated.
