Almost 6,000 athletes to compete in Longbien Marathon

The annual Longbien Marathon 2019 (LBM 2019) will be held on October 27 with the participation of nearly 6,000 athletes.

They will run over four courses of 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km.

Athletes at the start of the Longbien Marathon 2018. This year's race will be held on October 26.

LBM, with its theme of ‘Run Home’ this year, is one of the rare events in Vietnam recognised by the International Association of Athletics Federations and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.

Results will be used to apply for the Boston Marathon, one of six World Marathon Majors.

Winners will receive a total of 650 million VND (28,000 USD) in cash and gifts.
