Approx. 800 billion VND invested to build Cam Ly rail bridge

BAC GIANG- The Ministry of Transportation approved the investment policy of the Cam Ly rail bridge project at Km24+134 on Kep-Ha Long railway. The project will help to ease congestion of the current rail bridge, ensure smooth traffic and reduce impacts on operation and exploitation of the railway.

Besides, it will contribute to completing the national road No 37 as scheduled, enhancing connectivity, improving the exploitability, reducing traffic accidents and meeting transportation demand on the route from Bac Giang to Hai Duong and other localities in the northern key economic region to boost socio-economic development and guarantee national defense and security.

Cam Ly rail bridge belongs to Kep-Ha Long railway.

Cam Ly road bridge is about 631-metre long while the railway overpass (on Kep-Ha Long route) is about 175 metres. The upper part of the bridge will be laid with reinforced concrete and restressed concrete and the upper part will be structured with reinforced concrete.

The project has a total investment of 799.55 billion VND (32.8 million USD) which will be allocated from 2021 to 2025 from the Central Budget. Vietnam Railway Project Management Board is assigned as the investor. 

The project is scheduled to finish by 2025. Its beginning is in Cam Ly commune and the end point is in Bac Lung commune (Luc Nam district). The total length of the rout is about 3,014 metre. 

The road section will follow the speed design of 80km per hour. The project design will adhere to the road level technical standards ensuring quietness which does not subject to the requirements on waterway and railway infrastructure management.
